Amendments have been made to the resolutions governing the duration of stay of foreigners in Turkeyfor residence and travelling purposes. According to theamendment, duration of stay is 90 days between periods of 180 days as of the date of exit of the foreignerfrom Turkeyprovided that the duration of visa exemption or duration of stay on the visa is sufficient.
It is announced that the attached resolution regarding the redetermination of law no. 5683 on the duration of “Stay of Foreigners in Turkey for Residence and Travelling Purposes” published in the Official Gazette will become applicable on October 10 as resolved by the Council of Ministers upon the letter by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Accordingly, under the first paragraph of article 3 of the law on the duration of “Stay of Foreigners in Turkey for Residence and Travelling Purposes” will be 90 days between periods of 180 days as of the date of exit of the foreigner from Turkey provided that the duration of visa exemption or duration of stay on the visa is sufficient.
If the visa exemption period for Turkey or the duration of stay on the visa is less than 90 days for the foreigner, it may be extended up to 90 days in total within the country.

The amendment revoked the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 2003/6641 dated 22/12/2003 on the application of the duration of the first paragraph of article 3 of Law no. 5683 on Stay of Foreigners in Turkey for Residence and Travelling Purposes as 90 days.
